Product Information

Product Description

Generally copper crimped and bolted connections do not need jointing compound, however in certain circumstances jointing compound will assist the joint integrity.

EJCCG/4 copper coloured compound is recommended for use where high mechanical tension is applied to the connection. It is made from a urethane derivative of castor oil, with 10% suspended copper (as with EJCC/220), but has 35% 100-mesh silicone carbide added. The silicone carbide acts as a grit to make the surfaces in the joint grip well, while the compound fills voids, and assists conductivity. EJCG/4 is supplied in handy 4ml sachets, since it is generally used as a single shot application with copper 'C' Connectors on earth rods or situations where a sudden power surge can cause mechanical tension.

Please Note: Jointing compounds are made from a non-conductive oil base with suspended particles to suit a particular application. Each compound has specific properties and should only be used as prescribed by the manufacturer for its specific application. If in doubt about the application of a compound, please contact us for assistance.
